We are excited to let you know that “Better,” the single from our new EP, Music for the Radio, is now available on iTunes!  While the full EP will not release until May 15, you can get a sneak peek now!  And the best part?  When you purchase the single on iTunes you’re helping spread the Gospel in southern Sudan.  Every penny we receive from the sale of the album will go directly toward the purchase of hand-held radios that are allowing the people of southern Sudan to hear the Gospel in their own tribal languages.  You can learn more about the heart of the project HERE.

We’re also thrilled to have Mark Giles on board as our radio promoter.  Mark is currently working with artists like Mercy Me, Addison Road, Stellar Kart, and Laura Story, so we are delighted to have his skill and experience working on our behalf.

“Better” was inspired by our study of Ephesians that began almost 30 weeks ago!  In Ephesians 1:17 Paul writes, “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.”  And in Psalm 63:3 David writes, “Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.”

The heading to Psalm 63 indicates that David wrote these words while in the desert of Judah.  One can easily imagine where he found the inspiration for the beginning of the Psalm: “I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.”  But in our lives, with our needs met, dozens of diversions at our fingertips, and a general lack of “desert time,” it’s easy to find things that we enjoy better than God’s love.  That’s why Paul’s prayer in Ephesians is so important.

God isn’t content to be an item on our priority lists or a note on our calendars.  He will never say, “I think you and I have gone about as far as we can go in this relationship.”  He is never satisfied with just a part of us.  He wants the whole thing.  He is constantly calling us deeper and deeper into relationship with Him, because He knows that the very best thing for our lives is just to know Him.  He is constantly urging us to know Him better.
